Inspired by consumers’ growing interest in new experiences and unique flavors, the ingredient brings the authenticity of nature to application in ready-to-drink cocktails, bitters and liqueurs
Driven by the market demands for new experiences and formulations plant based, the classic cocktails, infusions based on natural ingredients and bitters are becoming popular among Brazilian consumers again. According to a survey by Mintel (2018), 28% of Brazilian consumers said they would like to consume more flavored and/or herbal beverages/coquettes (e.g. tea, spices).
To meet this interest in bitter flavors, Duas Rodas developed the Aromatic Herbal Extract, a mixture of herbs and spices translated into exotic aromas to inspire the taste of alcoholic beverages.
Elaborated with selected raw materials, which explore the synergy between star anise, balsamic and clove notes, the Aromatic Herbal Extract is part of dotNAT portfolio, a flavors and natural ingredients platform of Duas Rodas, a company that was born in the middle of the world’s largest biome nine decades ago and is a pioneer in the manufacture of essential oils from tropical plants in Brazil.
With intense color, expressive odor and bitter taste, the extract offers a variety of applications as a base for RTD (ready-to-drink) cocktails, bitters or liqueurs.
“Consumers are looking for new experiences, new flavors. In the alcoholic beverages market, there is an interesting movement of remodeling the cocktail shop, which is bringing classics unknown to young consumers, repaginated by customization and the possibility of new contrasts. Our ingredients prioritize the flavor’s authenticity and the translation of the nature complexity into unique solutions for our customers, generating new business opportunities and new sensory experiences for consumers,” says the Marketing Manager of Duas Rodas, Marco Paulo Pereira Henriques.
