President of Duas Rodas will be honored with the CNI Industrial Merit, the highest honor in Brazilian industry

Jaraguá do Sul, June 2024 – The professional trajectory of the President of Duas Rodas, Leonardo Fausto Zipf, will be honored by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) with the award of the Order of Merit to the businessman from Santa Catarina, the highest honor of the industry in Brazil given to personalities and institutions that contribute significantly to the development of Brazilian industry. The ceremony will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, the 21st, at the headquarters of the Federation of Industries of Santa Catarina (FIESC), in Florianópolis (SC).

The FIESC nomination was unanimously approved by the CNI´s Board of Directors in March this year.

“It is an honor and an immense joy to receive this national award, a significant recognition that I share with our employees and all the generations that have guided the company over its almost 100 years. I am convinced that the success of major business projects such as Duas Rodas is always the result of a joint effort, a lot of determination, a spirit of unity, the ability to innovate and resilience, with a focus on the present and an eye on the future”, says Leonardo.

Throughout his 36-year history at Duas Rodas, the entrepreneur led the vigorous process of national and international expansion of the company that was created in 1925 in Jaraguá do Sul (SC), positioning it as a leader in the Latin American food ingredients market.

Leonardo led the internationalization project, establishing production units in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and, in 2024, led the acquisition of tropextrakt GmbH in Germany. With this business, Duas Rodas has established an Advanced Innovation and Logistics Center in one of the largest global markets. The company has also expanded its presence with commercial offices in the US and China.

In Brazil, the entrepreneur was in charge of the implementation of the production unit in Estância (Sergipe) and, in 2015, led the acquisition of Mix Indústria de Produtos Alimentícios Ltda, in São Bernardo do Campo (SP). Currently, the Duas Rodas Group has more than 1,700 employees in all its business units.

In recent years, Leonardo has also strategically and consistently driven investments in innovation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, establishing valuable competitive advantages for Duas Rodas in the global market for flavors and ingredients for the food and beverage industry.

The businessman also stands out for his associative activity, leading organizations in Jaraguá do Sul and Santa Catarina. He was vice-president of the Commercial and Industrial Association of Jaraguá do Sul (ACIJS), vice-president of FIESC and chairman of the Board of Directors of ADVB-SC, among other positions.

Leonardo is currently the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Duas Rodas, in addition to serving on the Boards of Directors of EMBRAED and ADVB/SC.


Duas Rodas, founded in 1925 in Jaraguá do Sul (SC) by the German couple Hildegard and Rudolph Hufenüssler, is one of the largest manufacturers of flavors, extracts and ingredients for the food and beverage industry. Leader in several segments in Brazil and Latin America, it is present with its flavors, textures and colors in most of the foods consumed by the Brazilian population.
